IBM Cloud Hyper Protect DBaaS for PostgreSQL is a LinuxONE-powered cloud database solution for enterprise workloads with sensitive data. Hyper Protect DBaaS for PostgreSQL currently contains PostgreSQL major version 10.
Data security and confidentiality
Leveraging LinuxONE pervasive encryption and IBM Secure Service Container technology, Hyper Protect DBaaS provides workload isolation, restricted administrator access and tamper protection for data at rest and in flight. Data owners maintain complete control over the data.
High availability and scalability
Every Hyper Protect DBaaS instance is built as a clustered configuration consisting of one primary database node and two secondary database nodes (replicas that back up the primary), each node installed in a unique Availability Zone with automatic daily backups in the local storage. It has vertical scalability up to machine limits and ability to scale large databases with no sharding.
Hyper Protect DBaaS provides non-disruptive version upgrades, monitoring of the system by IBM SREs, and around-the-clock support from IBM Cloud. Developers can focus on building applications rather than managing availability, backups, logging, monitoring, scaling, hardware setup, and software patching.
Hyper Protect DBaaS provides standardized APIs to provision, manage, maintain, and monitor databases. For developers, it‘s easy to get started without specialized database skills.
