- Hyper Protect Crypto Services (HPCS) integration deprecated
- App Configuration no longer supports new integrations with Hyper Protect Crypto Services (HPCS) for key management. Existing HPCS integrations continue to work, but creating new HPCS integrations is not supported.
- Migrate to Key Protect
- If you currently use HPCS, migrate to IBM Key Protect. Key Protect is a shared key management service with FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certified HSMs that provides Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) capability. For more information, see Integrating with Key Protect and Managing encryption.

- Expanded Event Notifications integration support
- IBM Cloud® App Configuration now supports additional event types for Event Notifications integration. This enhancement provides more comprehensive monitoring and notification capabilities across all App Configuration operations. See Integrating with Event Notifications.

- Rule ID Support for feature segment rules in IBM Cloud® App Configuration
- IBM Cloud® App Configuration now supports rule IDs and rule names for feature segment rules, enhancing clarity in the management of rule definitions. We recommend using the dedicated feature rule APIs for all rule-related operations. Feature update and feature patch APIs still accept segment updates and auto‑generate a rule ID when one isn't provided. This behavior will eventually deprecated for segment rule update in these APIs. These APIs will continue to work normally for other feature attributes. If users have rule ID for feature segments, it's best to avoid using the feature update or feature patch APIs for feature segment rule related changes, as not passing the rule ID will result in being overridden.
