Installing Knowledge Studio

To install the IBM Watson® Knowledge Studio for IBM Cloud Pak® for Data add-on, see the installation documentation in the IBM Cloud Pak for Data documentation.

Upgrading to the latest version

To upgrade the Knowledge Studio for IBM Cloud Pak for Data service in the same cluster, complete the following steps.

Only Backing up and restoring data is supported when upgrading. Note that Backing up and restoring databases is not supported.

  1. Backup the workspaces data.
  2. Deprovision the existing Knowledge Studio instance on the IBM Cloud Pak for Data console.
  3. Uninstall the existing installation. For more information, see Uninstalling Knowledge Studio.
  4. Install the latest version. For more information, see Installing Knowledge Studio.
  5. Provision a new Knowledge Studio instance in the IBM Cloud Pak for Data console.
  6. Restore the workspaces data into the new instance.
