Retrieving VCF license keys

End of Marketing: As of 31 October 2025, new deployments of VMware Solutions offerings are no longer available for new customers. Existing customers can still use and expand their active VMware® workloads on IBM Cloud®. For more information, see End of Marketing for VMware on IBM Cloud.

To retrieve VMware Cloud Foundation™ (VCF) license keys, you must provision an IBM Cloud® bare metal server with VCF.

Procedure to retrieve new VCF license keys

  1. In the VMware Solutions console, click Licensing and metering > VMware product keys from the left navigation panel.
  2. On the VMware product keys page, locate the VMware® component or add-on to retrieve the license key for.
  3. Click the Copy to clipboard icon to copy the license key.
  4. Use the license key to link to your respective VMware products.

VMware products are provisioned with expiring license keys. IBM® will provide updated keys before the expiration date.
