# VLANs and subnets in VMware Solutions
{: #vmwaresol_ports-vlans-subnets}

As of 17 July 2025, new automated installations of Red Hat® OpenShift® for VMware® are no longer available for new or existing deployments of VMware Cloud Foundation for Classic - Automated instances. You can still use or delete your existing Red Hat OpenShift for VMware automated installations until 16 July 2026. The service will no longer be available from 17 July 2026.
{: deprecated}

The following table provides information about the subnets that are used in each VLAN. You can either order new VLANs or subnets for VMware Cloud Foundation for Classic - Automated instances or you can select existing VLANs. You can define your firewall rules based on the subnets and ports that the network traffic goes through.

It is not recommended to put a firewall on a secondary private VLAN that has storage and VMware vSphere vMotion® traffic.
{: note}

| Public VLAN | Private VLAN | Secondary private VLAN |
|:------------|:-------------|:-----------------------|
