# Entrust DataControl on IBM Cloud overview

As of 17 July 2025, new automated installations of Red Hat® OpenShift® for VMware® are no longer available for new or existing deployments of VMware Cloud Foundation for Classic - Automated instances. You can still use or delete your existing Red Hat OpenShift for VMware automated installations until 16 July 2026. The service will no longer be available from 17 July 2026.

New installations of Entrust DataControl® (formerly HyTrust DataControl) are not supported for new or existing deployments of VMware Cloud Foundation for Classic - Automated instances. You can still use or delete existing Entrust DataControl installations on your existing instances.

### Entrust DataControl appliance

* CPU - 2 CPUs
* RAM - 8 GB
* Disk - 20 GB VMDK resident on vSAN in the consolidated cluster
* Network - Placed on a VLAN-backed private portable network specified for management

### High availability

Two Entrust DataControl appliances in an active-active configuration.

### Licenses and fees

Per host license - An Entrust DataControl license for each host in the environment.
