# Applying IBM Cloud&reg;-issued licenses for VMware vSphere

Many VMware&reg; Add-on licenses can be purchased directly and stored on the IBM Cloud infrastructure customer portal. After a license is purchased, you need to apply the license to your vSphere Hosts by using the following steps.

1. Log in to the [IBM Cloud catalog](https://cloud.ibm.com/catalog/){: external}.
1. Go to **Devices > Manage > VMware licenses**.
1. Note the VMware **License key**.
1. Log in to your vCenter Instances.
1. Go to **Administration > Licensing > Licenses**.
   * From here, you can see what licenses that are applied and apply new licenses to your account.
1. To apply a new license to your account, click the green plus **[+]**.
1. Enter your license keys, one per line and click **Next**.
1. Enter an appropriate **License name**.
1. Click **Finish**.
