Migrating to modern IBM Cloud data centers

Chennai 01 (CHE01) data center closure
Effective 10 June 2027, IBM Cloud will discontinue operations in the Chennai 01 (CHE01) data center.
You can select any worldwide IBM Cloud data center for your migration. The new Chennai and Mumbai locations offer the most comprehensive IBM technology stack with improved connectivity and consistent operations across multizone regions (MZRs) for true in-region redundancy.

The following table lists the key milestones and deadlines for the CHE01 data center closure.

| 15 June 2026 | End of market for CHE01: service provisioning in CHE01 is limited through an allowlist to accounts that are already consuming Cloud services in CHE01. |
| 10 December 2026 | New service deployment removed for all accounts: allowlisted accounts may no longer provision Cloud services in CHE01. |
| 9 April 2027 | Network maintenance (14:00 GMT): CHE01 will experience network disruption during the maintenance window; you must contact IBM Cloud to restore service. |
| 12 April 2027 | Migration assistance request window closure: last day for teams to submit migration assistance requests. |
| 30 April 2027 | Migration window for PaaS closure: last day to migrate IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service and other PaaS out of CHE01 before services are suspended and reclaimed. |
| 10 June 2027 | Migration window for IaaS closure: last day to migrate IaaS out of CHE01 before services are suspended and reclaimed. |
No extension period available. Migrate as soon as possible to avoid service disruption or data loss.
