Publishing your agent to the watsonx Orchestrate and IBM Cloud catalogs

This tutorial walks you through how to publish your agent to the watsonx Orchestrate and IBM Cloud catalogs. By completing this tutorial, you submit your publishing request and publish your agent to both catalogs.

This tutorial is one of six in a series that demonstrates how to onboard and publish an agent to the watsonx Orchestrate and IBM Cloud catalogs. It uses a fictitious company that's called Example Corp. As you complete the tutorial, adapt each step to fit your product's needs.

Before you begin

Before you can publish your agent, make sure to complete all onboarding tasks:

  1. Register your agent.
  2. Define your agent details.
  3. Onboard a broker.
  4. Add a pricing plan.
  5. Submit your agent details.

Submit your publishing request

Before your agent can be published to the catalog, IBM Cloud reviews your submission to verify that all required details are complete and accurate, including your product name, catalog entry, pricing plan, support experience, and agent package.

  1. In the IBM Cloud console, click the Navigation menu icon Navigation Menu icon > Partner Center > My products.
  2. Select the agent that you're onboarding.
  3. Click Request approval.
  4. In the Select the version you want to submit for publishing approval dialog, select I confirm that my company is authorized to use all materials.
  5. Click Request approval.

After you submit, the onboarding checklist updates to show Approval pending. The IBM Cloud team reviews your agent package structure, metadata, and evaluation results and gets back to you.

If updates are required, you receive a separate email with details about what needs to be changed. After you address all feedback, you can submit another publishing request.

Publish your agent

When all product details are approved, the Publish to watsonx Orchestrate button appears at the top of the page. Click Publish to watsonx Orchestrate to submit your agent for publishing.

After you click the button, a Publish request sent confirmation appears. Your request to publish your agent to the watsonx Orchestrate catalog has been sent. After your agent is published there, it is automatically published to the IBM Cloud catalog as well.

Publishing is not immediate. Your agent goes through a background processing period that takes approximately one month to complete. You receive an email notification when your agent is live.

Next steps

After you receive the email notification that your agent is live, verify that it appears in the watsonx Orchestrate and IBM Cloud catalogs by searching for the name of your agent.
