# Using IBM Cloud® Data Engine

IBM Cloud® Data Engine (formerly SQL Query) is deprecated as of 18 January 2024, and no new instances can be created or purchased starting on 18 February 2024. The service will no longer be supported by IBM Cloud® as of 18 January 2025. At the end-of-support date, any instances of Data Engine that are still running will be permanently disabled and deprovisioned.
