Understanding high availability and disaster recovery for the IBM Cloud CLI

IBM Cloud® provides storage of IBM Cloud CLI binary files, plug-ins, and metadata that is used by the IBM Cloud CLI and the IBM-provided CLI installers. The IBM Cloud CLI follows the practices that are described in How IBM Cloud ensures high availability and disaster recovery.

The CLI binary data and metadata are stored in a US cross-regional IBM Cloud Object Storage instance. If the cross-regional Object Storage instance is unavailable at any time, the IBM Cloud CLI is still operational on the client's on-premises installation.

The IBM Cloud CLI does not store user data.
