Managing your account settings

As an IBM Cloud® account owner, you can change the account name, view your account type, and find your account ID on the Account settings page. You can also manage settings for compliance for EU support, Financial Services Validated products, and HIPAA support.

Viewing your account settings

To view your account settings in the IBM Cloud console go to Manage > Account, and select Account settings in the IBM Cloud console.

Editing the account name

Account owners or users with an access policy with the Operator role or higher on all account management services can view and update the account name. To edit your account name, go to Manage > Account, and select Account settings in the IBM Cloud console. In the Account section, click the Edit icon Edit icon, type your new account name, and click Submit.

Viewing your account type

To view your account type, go to Manage > Account, and select Account settings in the IBM Cloud console. Details about your account type are listed in the Account Type section. For more information about the features that are included with your account, see Account types.

You can change your account to a different type by upgrading or converting your account. See Upgrading your account for more information.

Updating compliance account settings

Depending on your specific needs, you can enable settings for the following areas related to data, security, and compliance:

  • EU support to ensure any support ticket you create is sent to support teams in the EU
  • Financial Services Validated products setting for alerting all users in the account before they create a service that is not Financial Services Validated
  • HIPAA support for accounts that plan to include Protected Health Information in the account
