# Watson IoT Platform bridge
{: #watson_iot}

IBM Watson® IoT Platform provides a managed bridge that lets you create a unidirectional link to IBM® Event Streams for IBM Cloud®.
{: shortdesc}

Connecting Event Streams to Watson IoT Platform means that you can use Event Streams as an event pipeline to consume your device events from the Watson IoT Platform and to make the events available in real time to the rest of the platform.

A common pattern is to use the Watson IoT Platform bridge, Event Streams, and the IBM Cloud® Object Storage bridge to create an end-to-end pipeline, which makes real-time and batch interactions easier.

For more information about to how to create this bridge, see [Connecting and configuring a historian connector to use Event Streams](https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/mapms/1_cloud?topic=connectors-data-store-connector-event-streams){: external}.
