Deprecation of IBM Cloud® Data Transfer Service
IBM Cloud continues to evaluate its service offerings periodically keeping in perspective our client requirements and market direction. As a result, as of 03 October 2024 the IBM Cloud Data Transfer Service offering is deprecated.

End of marketing | 04 November 2024 | No new requests for Data Transfer Service can be created or submitted. Existing requests are serviced according to the terms of the offering. |
Deprecation details
- The service is removed from the IBM Cloud console on 04 November 2024, and no new orders can be created after that date. Your existing requests that were created before this date continue to run as planned.
- This deprecation means that support, including updates and technical support, for the product is no longer available effective 03 October 2025.
- Any remaining devices will be permanently disabled and destroyed as of 03 October 2025, including any user data.
- No support cases can be opened after 03 October 2025.

Migrating to an alternative service
Customers can use Seagate Lyve Mobile Solution for data transfer. This option provides more flexibility to customers in sending large datasets to be uploaded to the cloud.
