Deprecation of CDN

Deprecation of CDN

IBM Cloud Content Delivery Network (CDN) is deprecated. Starting 29 April 2024, CDN is no longer available for purchase. After the End of Service date (28 March 2025), CDN will no longer support any orders, updates, and purge, monitoring, or deletion operations.

Important dates

The following table describes the details of the deprecation, timeline, and extra information.

Date Stage Description
28 March 2024 Deprecation announcement (SoftLayer notification) Announcement of the CDN deprecation. All current CDN users receive an announcement email with information about the deprecation.
28 March 2024 Deprecation announcement (IBM Cloud® Announcement) Announcement of the CDN deprecation through IBM Cloud® Announcement. Notification details are put into the console and related screens.
29 April 2024 End of Marketing (EOM) CDN end of marketing. After this date, CDN is no longer available for purchase. For more information, see Deprecation details.
Ongoing Reminders Periodic reminders are sent to remaining CDN users that the end of support date is coming.
28 March 2025 End of Support (EOS) CDN end of support. For more information, see Deprecation details.

Deprecation details

Review the following details about the SSL Certificates Order deprecation:

  • After EOM (29 April 2024), you won't be able to create new CDN instances from the IBM Cloud CDN portal.
  • After EOM (29 April 2024) and before EOS (28 March 2025), CDN will still be available to you for viewing and managing your existing CDN instances.
  • After EOS (28 March 2025), CDN is no longer supported for any orders, updates, and purge, monitoring, or deletion operations.
